UP University alliance is a European University of regionally engaged institutions committed to supporting Responsible Living for the Next Generations. Our Mission Statement brings together who we are and why we exist, shaping how we work in education, research, innovation and societal engagement, in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals 3, 11 and 12.

Through this Position Paper, we set out our strategy for achieving long-term financial sustainability across European University Alliances. It presents our governance and funding model—grounded in transparency, proportional contributions and strategic flexibility—and explains how we ensure stability beyond project-based funding cycles.

By outlining a structured approach that supports resilient governance, shared responsibility and sustainable growth, the paper reflects our commitment to building a future-oriented, inclusive and innovative-driven European higher education ecosystem.
